The construction of our new headquarters begins

March 5, 2020, is a special day in the history of the Sutter. After a long planning phase and intensive preparations, the ground-breaking ceremony in Emmendingen finally took place today.

Despite the rainy weather, about 50 guests came together on the 17,000 square meter site in Emmendingen where the new home of Sutter Medizintechnik will be built. Besides the Sutter family, the Extended Management Board, our partners and the representatives of the city of Emmendingen, also our future neighbors came to celebrate this special moment with us.

Emmendingen's mayor Stefan Schlatterer expressed his anticipation about the company’s move to the city. He is happy that with Sutter there will settle another medium-sized manufacturing company in Emmendingen. Thomas Dieterle, CEO of the building company Wacker Objekt GmbH & Co. KG, is also looking forward to the collaboration. He sees many similarities between the companies Wacker and Sutter, whose philosophies are each characterized by great social responsibility and long-term orientation.

"We will bring the company into a building that has been designed around our needs, our processes and the people who work in it", said CEO Bert Sutter in his welcome speech. "It will implement three pillars of sustainability in a modern shell."

The 3 pillars of sustainability in Emmendingen

Sustainable Growth

On almost 9,000 square meters of space, production processes will be designed in an efficient way and thus push forward economic growth. Sutter thinks long-term even over generations. A total of 17,000 sqm of land is available for modular extension in the future.

Planet

The building will be almost completely CO2-neutral thanks to the use of energy from our own solar power and the implementation according KfW-55 standard for energy-saving buildings. This means that in the future we can save approx. 100 tons of CO2 per year.

People

In 44 thousand cubic meters, there will be enough working space for up to 200 employees, which will enable individual and future-oriented development of all employees. This will be ensured by light-flooded with ergonomic workstations, co-working areas, quiet rooms and meeting points.

We are pleased to open the construction phase in the same year as our 50th anniversary and are already looking forward to our move in 2021.
