Sutter Medical - News - News-Blog - Sutter events

Fall is always a busy season for the medical industry with many medical congresses and trade shows taking place during that time of the year. As a German medical devices company that is also active on an international level, we attended both national and international meetings.

The CNS in Houston and the AAO-HNSF in Atlanta rang in this year's fall events season. There was a lot of interest in the Sutter products by neurosurgeons and otorhinolaryngologists, respectively. Our Sutter USA team was supported by CEO Bert Sutter, who joined them in Atlanta.

In October, we participated in the annual meeting of the German skull base society in Ulm, Germany. Especially our Calvian endo-pen® bipolar forceps sparked a lot of interest due to their slender shaft and their easy handling which sets them apart from many other bipolar forceps on the market.

Following the German skull base meeting, our team travelled to Brussels, Belgium where this year's EANS, the European neurosurgery congress, took place. Participants visiting the Sutter booth had the chance to see a selection of our product portfolio. At the booth, we displayed a variety of our SuperGliss® non-stick bipolar forceps including the different product lines ELP, TEO, and zhora. Our team was happy that our Belgium distribution partner Boucart Medical joined us at the booth, and several other distributors from Spain, Ireland, and the Czech Republic stopped by to say hello.

Our colleagues from our Sutter Pacific office joined the International Spine and Neurosurgery Conference in Bali, Indonesia with our Indonesian distributor Surgika Alkesindo.

At the end of October, the annual meeting of German ENT doctors took place in Mannheim, Germany. Together with our German distribution partner Neuwirth Medical Products, we had a joined booth and also hosted a symposium on radiofrequency in ENT.

In his session titled "Radiofrequency applications in dermatosurgery and small tumor surgery" Prof. Dr. med. R. Riemann (Elbe Klinikum Stade) talked about his longtime experience with the CURIS® 4 MHz radiofrequency generator. After an overview of the history of electrosurgery and radiofrequency technology, Prof. Riemann showed some practical examples. He emphasized the versatility of the CURIS® 4 MHz radiofrequency generator and pointed out that ENT doctors may benefit from the device by using it for both ENT applications as well as dermatosurgical procedures. Precision, reliability, and efficiency were some of the advantages that Prof. Riemann mentioned in his presentation. Examples in the area of dermatosurgery included both benign and malignant mutations  (spider veins, teleangiectasia, hemangiomas, fibromas, papillomas, blepharoplasty, etc.).

In his part of the lecture, Dr. med. S. Grupp (Praxisgemeinschaft am Martinstor, Freiburg) talked about radiofrequency tonsillotomy taking account of the new guidelines. We say thank you to both doctors for their interesting presentations and to all participants for their interest in our symposium.

While our Sutter Germany team attended the ENT congress in Germany, our Sutter Pacific team were at the CMEF in Shenzhen, China.

We ended this year's fall events season at the world's largest medical trade show, MEDICA in Dusseldorf, Germany. In addition to our colleagues from Sutter Pacific, we were joined by many of our international distribution partners who travelled to Germany for this event. We enjoyed meeting both new and longterm business partners and look forward to an exciting new year with everyone.

Please note that these events only include the meetings where the Sutter team was present. We would also like to say thank you to our distribution partners who participate in many national meetings in their markets where they represent Sutter!
