Our Customer Service team is often the first point of contact for our national and international distribution partners, together with our Sales team. From the first call, through the ordering process to after-sales service, the team supports our customers with all questions and requests concerning their orders and our products. In close cooperation with our Logistics department, the team ensures that all orders reach our customers quickly and safely. As the needs of our customers vary along with country-specific requirements, we focus on personal customer service and aim to maintain a long-term cooperative relationship with our customers.
The value chain of our products begins in our purchasing department, where all raw and operating materials needed for the production of our precision products are procured. In addition, the purchasing team supplies all areas of our company with the necessary items – from general office supplies to high-quality print products for marketing and sales. Quality is not only an essential aspect in the selection of goods, it also shapes the collaboration with our suppliers. We rely on long-term relationships with regional suppliers, contributing to sustainable and efficient business processes.
Connecting the transportation network between our company and suppliers, service providers and customers – this is the role of our logistics department. In addition to receiving goods procured by our purchasing team, the logistics team works together with our customer service to ensure the safe and quick delivery of our products. All instruments must pass the final electrical testing before being commissioned, packed, labeled and dispatched according to customer requirements. We strive for continuous optimization in order to make our logistics processes even more efficient and to shorten delivery times.
Our Business Development & Product Management is responsible for bringing forward future-oriented products in line with the needs of the users. In close cooperation with surgeons and hospitals, the team initiates ideas for optimizing our products and developing new product innovations taking into account the legal requirements for approval in the respective markets. Our product managers coordinate the entire process of a product from the idea, research and development to marketing and sales, until it makes its way to the hands of the user. Our impedance-controlled CURIS® 4 MHz Radiofrequenz-Generator offers surgeons around the world the advantages of an advanced 4 MHz radiofrequency technology for a variety of applications in the OR.
What are the legal requirements for our products to be sold? This is the focus of our regulatory affairs department. Being responsible for introducing our products successfully to the market in accordance with the requirements of the respective countries, our regulatory affairs team prepares the necessary registration documents and communicates with national and international regulatory authorities. Within the scope of this task, the team works closely together with our quality management and all teams involved in the research and development, production, marketing and sales of our products.
In the process of creating new products and developing innovative features our development department is responsible for the technical implementation of customer requirements. Working with modern tools such as Solidworks and SolidCam, the engineers produce sample components either in 3D printing or on modern CNC machines, and create prototypes of the new products. In close cooperation with our teams of regulatory affairs and business development & product management, new solutions evolve that make the work for surgeons easier. Our CURIS 4 MHz radiofrequency generator is the result of innovative development processes: With its impedance-controlled 4 MHz radiofrequency technology, it offers advantages for a wide range of applications in precision electrosurgery.
Our finance department deals with all topics that are fundamental to sustain profitability and future growth. In addition to accounting and controlling tasks, the team is responsible for the human resources, focusing on the people who make up the success of our company. From the employment contract and time recording to individual aspekts, e.g. in the context of parental leave, the team supports the employees in all questions and concerns.
Ensuring a consistent brand and product communication always close to the core of our philosophy – this is the key task of our marketing communications team. Wheather through image, text or video, the team develops creative ideas to communicate our products and Sutter as a company across various media channels. From strategic planning to media implementation, the team works closely together with sales and business development & product management to prepare appropriate and user-friendly information for doctors, partners, our employees and the public. Through modern media tools, the team creates high-quality product catalogs and reaches out to our target audience via social media channels such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
With our global network of international sales partners in over 50 countries worldwide, we are close to the market and our customers. Our sales teams in our headquarters in Emmendingen, Germany, as well as in our subsidiaries in the USA and Asia support the sales partners of the different locations in successfully selling our innovative solutions. Our partners receive first-hand knowledge about our products and their applications through our Trainings@Sutter, during customer visits, online trainings or through our e-learning. A partnership based on respect and trust is highly important to us - it is the key to a successful and longstanding collaboration.
The manufacturing process of our diverse product portfolio begins in our CNC machining department. By linking man and machine the various workpieces are manufactured automatically, even for complex products. The CAD data created in the R & D department is converted into CNC code, which can be processed by our production machines. The team ensures an efficient workflow of the machines to produce the various workpieces required by the different manufacturing departments, such as the assembly and precision engineering teams for the manufacturing of our innovative precision products.
From tacking and laser welding to the alignment of the different components, the team in the prefabrication department brings our instruments into shape, thus providing the basis for coating and quick assembly. The different work processes requires the team to work with the highest precision. All work steps are documented according to our central quality management before the prefabricated parts are assembled to the various forceps models.
Following the pre-assembly, the team in the assembly department creates the different models of our wide range of instruments. From assembling to fine adjustment and gluing, our specialists work precisely under the microscope, while performing and documenting all work steps according to our high quality standards. This is the basis to achieve the best possible function and safety in the application of our products.
In our precision engineering department our innovative products, such as the ARROWtip monopolar microdissection electrodes and the Calvian endo-pen bipolar forceps, are created out of many work pieces. A team of highly qualified specialists assembles our high precision instruments with the utmost accuracy and sensitivity, by hand and mostly under the microscope. The result are innovative products of the highest quality that offer surgeons around the world optimal solutions for a wide range of applications.
Along the manufacturing process, our instruments pass through our in-house coating department, where they are coated in specially dust-protected rooms through sandblasting. This not only gives our instruments their individual color, but also provides them with the highest level of protection and safety in accordance with our quality specifications. With the application of the inscription and the logo, the instruments receive their product-specific labeling, before they are further processed by the assembly or precision engineering department.
The high quality standards are reflected along the entire value chain at Sutter Medizintechnik. Our quality management team ensure that all processes are implemented in accordance with legal requirements through our central quality management system. It connects all areas of the company and forms the central base through which all documents used in the company are processed. In this way, we ensure that all our company processes align with our high quality standards, offering the highest possible safety and quality for users and patients.
To develop, produce and distribute products of the highest precision and quality at all times is the core of our corporate philosophy. Therefore, we do not only comply with legal regulations, but also focus on the highest quality of all product components. Our quality assurance team ensures that all components and materials that enter our company through our logistics department meet the quality specifications set by our R & A department. All goods to be used in our manufacturing process are tested in order to ensure the high quality standards as well as the traceability of our products.
