CURIS® II expands the CURIS® platform with new safety and workflow features. The impedance-controlled 4 MHz radiofrequency generator supports controlled energy delivery and efficient operating room workflows.

With CURIS® II, Sutter Medizintechnik introduces the next generation of its 4 MHz radiofrequency generator. Built on the established impedance-controlled technology of the CURIS® platform, the system adds new features designed to support safety, usability, and workflow efficiency in the operating room.

Controlled Energy Delivery as the Foundation of Radiofrequency Surgery

Precision in electrosurgery is shaped by the interaction between energy and tissue. CURIS® II is based on an impedance-controlled 4 MHz radiofrequency technology that continuously adapts energy delivery to tissue characteristics. This principle forms the foundation of all operating modes and supports controlled radiofrequency energy application throughout a procedure.

AutoRF™ and p³™ Remain Core Elements of the CURIS® Platform

The established AutoRF™ and p³™ technologies remain integral parts of the system. AutoRF™ continuously adapts power output according to changes in tissue impedance. In selected modes, p³™ enables pulsed energy delivery to support controlled application of radiofrequency energy.

New Safety Features for the Operating Room

CURIS® II expands the platform with additional safety-related functionality. Correct application is indicated by a green illuminated neutral electrode icon, while a detected malfunction or deviation is signaled by a red illuminated icon. The new patient return electrode monitoring feature supports correct placement control of the patient electrode throughout use, helping support safe application in the operating room.

Instrument Recognition System Supports Efficient Workflows

The Instrument Recognition System automatically identifies compatible Sutter instruments and provides matching settings. This creates a plug-and-play concept for radiofrequency surgery, enabling clinicians to connect instruments and begin working with preconfigured parameters.

Part of an Integrated CURIS® Solution

CURIS® II is part of the CURIS® solution and can be combined with the CURIS® flow irrigation pump and the CURIS® Cart. Together they create a flexible platform for different radiofrequency surgery requirements. The system also offers an interface for external surgical smoke evacuation systems, supporting current operating room safety and smoke management needs.
