Sutter Medical Technology has once again received the SME Award for Social Responsibility, “SOZIAL ENGAGIERT.” Presented by Caritas, Diakonie, and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism, the award honors companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to social responsibility and integrate sustainable civic engagement into their corporate culture.
The SME Award for Social Responsibility in Baden-Württemberg (LEA SME Award) is presented by Caritas, Diakonie, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg. For 15 years, the award has recognized companies in Baden-Württemberg that assume social responsibility and demonstrate a commitment that extends beyond their core business activities.
Through the “SOZIAL ENGAGIERT” (Socially Committed) initiative, small and medium-sized enterprises are honored for making sustainable contributions to the common good and for integrating social responsibility into their business practices over the long term.

Why Sutter Medical Technology Received the Award Again
Sutter Medical Technology was once again recognized with the “SOZIAL ENGAGIERT” SME Award for Social Responsibility in recognition of its continuous commitment to society. This commitment is firmly embedded in the company’s culture and deliberately extends beyond its role as a medical technology company.
The jury particularly acknowledged the company’s long-term approach to social responsibility. At Sutter, social commitment is not viewed as a standalone project but as an integral and enduring part of the company’s business activities and corporate values.
Social Commitment as Part of the Corporate Philosophy
At Sutter Medical Technology, social responsibility is one of the company’s core values. The company supports both regional and international initiatives that help and empower people in a wide range of life situations.
The aim is to make a sustainable contribution to society and to take responsibility where support is needed most. Social engagement is actively integrated into the company’s day-to-day operations and forms an integral part of corporate life.
Sutter Medical Technology supports child sponsorship programs through SOS Children’s Villages and World Vision. Every employee is assigned a sponsorship through one of these two organizations.
These sponsorships help provide children around the world with improved living conditions as well as access to education and vocational training opportunities.

Another important initiative supported by Sutter Medical Technology is the child protection program “Stop the Violence” run by the Help for Children initiative.
Since 2008, the Help for Children Prevention Center has been working to raise awareness among preschool children about the issues of preventing child abuse and promoting road safety through specially designed educational coloring books.
As part of this program, a coloring book was developed to help children learn, through everyday situations, how to recognize personal boundaries, say “no,” and identify inappropriate approaches at an early stage. The project aims to strengthen children’s confidence, awareness, and ability to protect themselves in potentially harmful situations.

Recognition as Motivation for the Future
The renewed award serves as further confirmation of Sutter Medical Technology’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility. At the same time, the company views the recognition as motivation to continue its existing initiatives and explore new ways of providing support. Sustainable social responsibility requires long-term commitment. Sutter aims to contribute to positive change while encouraging other companies to actively engage in social initiatives and make a lasting impact within their communities.
