Sustainable mobility is not achieved through individual projects, but through consistent action over many years. The renewal of the MobilSiegel 2026 certification confirms that climate-friendly commuting is firmly embedded in Sutter’s daily work routine. The award recognizes companies in the Freiburg region that offer their employees sustainable alternatives for their daily commute and thereby actively contribute to reducing traffic-related CO₂ emissions.

Sustainable mobility is not a one-off project. It develops when practical solutions are established, embraced and continuously improved over time. This makes our renewed certification with the MobilSiegel 2026 for climate-friendly commuting particularly meaningful. The recertification recognizes our ongoing commitment to sustainable employee mobility and demonstrates that climate-friendly commuting is not simply a sustainability objective. It is part of a workplace environment that continues to evolve.
A sustainable workplace is about more than what happens inside the company. It also involves the journey employees make to get there.
Every morning involves a mobility decision: bicycle, e-bike, public transport, electric vehicle or conventional individual car travel.
As an employer, we cannot make that decision for our employees. What we can do is create conditions that make climate-friendly alternatives more practical for everyday use.
This principle is at the heart of our approach to sustainable employee mobility. By providing a range of services and continuously developing our infrastructure, we aim to make sustainable commuting options more accessible in everyday working life.

Recertification: sustainability as a continuous process
Receiving an award for the first time is an important milestone. Successful recertification adds another dimension: it places long-term development and continuity at the centre of the story.
Our renewed MobilSiegel 2026 certification confirms the path we have taken while providing additional motivation to continue developing our mobility offering.
The focus is not on one individual measure. It is the combination of infrastructure, employee services and the willingness of our workforce to integrate more sustainable mobility choices into everyday routines that makes the difference.
This interaction transforms individual measures into a lived mobility culture.

From JobRad® to EV charging: sustainable mobility has to work in everyday life
Sustainable mobility concepts create value when they are practical and accessible in day-to-day life. Our approach therefore combines several elements designed to address different mobility needs.
These include:
The principle behind these measures is deliberately practical: climate-friendly commuting should be as easy as possible to integrate into everyday working life.
Our employees turn mobility options into everyday practice
Even the best infrastructure can only create opportunities. People ultimately bring sustainable mobility to life.
For this reason, the renewed certification also reflects the engagement of our employees. Those who commute by bicycle or e-bike, use alternative mobility options or participate in joint initiatives help make sustainable mobility visible in everyday company life.
One example is City Cycling (“Stadtradeln”). Participation in initiatives like this can create additional awareness of cycling as a practical form of everyday transportation.
Sustainable mobility therefore becomes more than a corporate objective. It consists of many individual choices made every day.
MobilSiegel 2026: advancing climate-friendly mobility together in the Freiburg region
Sustainable mobility does not stop at the company gates. Businesses, municipalities, public institutions, public transport operators and employees all face the same fundamental question: how can everyday mobility become increasingly climate-friendly?
The MobilSiegel provides a regional framework for recognizing organizations that address this challenge across the Freiburg region.
The 2026 award ceremony also provided an opportunity for participating organizations to exchange perspectives and experiences. We would like to thank VAG Freiburg – Freiburger Verkehrs AG for hosting this year's event.

A trophy with a mobility story of its own
Even the MobilSiegel trophy reflects the idea behind the award. It is produced from an original tram rail profile and crafted by apprentices at VAG Freiburg.
The object therefore represents more than the certification itself. Its material, production and origin create a tangible connection between the award, regional identity and mobility in Freiburg.

Recognition and motivation for the journey ahead
The MobilSiegel 2026 recertification confirms the path we have taken over recent years. At the same time, we see it as motivation to continue developing sustainable mobility solutions and practical alternatives for everyday commuting. After all, climate-friendly mobility is not created by one individual initiative. It develops through supportive conditions and, most importantly, through people who turn these opportunities into everyday practice. We would like to thank our employees for their engagement and everyone involved in advancing sustainable mobility across the region.

Our measures include bicycle leasing through JobRad®, secure bicycle parking, modern changing facilities, a bicycle repair station and an expanding EV charging infrastructure.
Bicycle leasing through JobRad® supports employees who want to integrate bicycles or e-bikes into their personal mobility and daily commute.
Charging points at the company site provide infrastructure for employees using electric vehicles. In our case, the charging infrastructure is powered by certified renewable electricity.
Employees turn mobility initiatives into everyday practice. By using bicycles, e-bikes and other mobility options and participating in initiatives such as City Cycling (“Stadtradeln”), they help create an active culture of sustainable mobility.
