New space for innovative growth and future-oriented jobs

The year 2020 is a special one for the Freiburg-based medical devices company Sutter. Just in time for the company's 50th anniversary, Sutter starts to build its new headquarters in Emmendingen. A total of between 19 and 20 million euros will be invested into the new building, which covers an area of 17,000 sqm. The move is planned for 2021.

The aspect of sustainability plays a central role throughout the entire planning and construction process. It will be reflected in the three pillars: economy, people and ecology. The new building will optimize existing processes and enable the company to expand for future economic growth. Also, a modern room concept will support the well-being ot all employees: Light-flooded rooms with ergonomic workplaces, co-working areas, quiet rooms and meeting points will provide a working atmosphere that supports individual and future-oriented development of employees. In addition, the building was planned in consideration of ecological aspects. In accordance with German standards for energy-saving buildings, it will be operated almost completely CO2-neutral with a combination of green electricity and self-produced solar power.

CEO Bert Sutter is proud of the construction project. "The move is a big step for our company and shows that we believe in a good and successful future for us here in Emmendingen", he says during the official groundbreaking ceremony on March 5, 2020. The new company headquarters are designed on a long-term basis which is shown by the growth concept for modular extension. On 9,000 sqm there will be enough workspace for up to 200 employees. The 17,000 sqm site will further allow the modular expansion of the building in the future.
